Copyright Policy
1. Overview
Jumi Ltd respects intellectual property rights and expects users of JUMI Ad Animator to do the same. This policy explains how to raise a copyright concern with us and what we will do about it.
This policy is deliberately different from the notice-and-takedown policies you may have seen on platforms that host user content, for the reason explained in Section 2.
2. What we host, and what we do not
JUMI Ad Animator runs entirely in your browser. Images users import and ads users create are stored on the user's own device. They are never uploaded to our servers, and we cannot see, retrieve or remove them.
The content we do publish and control is:
- the built-in content of the tool. Some of it is our own work: the text and layout of the ready-made ad templates are created in-house, and the background photographs used in them are supplied by us. Some of it is third-party material used under licence: the icon library is based on Lucide icons (used under the ISC licence), fonts are used under the SIL Open Font Licence and served via Google Fonts, and the tool is built with open-source software libraries (which are code, not user-facing artwork). The full list of third-party components and their licences is on our Credits & Licences page;
- the website itself: its text, graphics, branding and example imagery.
A takedown request to us can therefore only meaningfully relate to that content. We cannot "take down" a user's ad, because we do not host it.
3. Reporting a copyright concern
If you believe any of the built-in content or our website infringes copyright or another intellectual property right that you own or represent, email legal@jumi.uk with the subject line "Copyright notice" and include:
- Identification of your work: what it is, and evidence of your rights in it (for example a registration, publication date or link to the original);
- Identification of our material: which element, template, photograph or page you are concerned about, precisely enough for us to find it (a screenshot helps);
- The basis of your concern: why you consider our material infringes;
- Your details: name, organisation if relevant, and contact information;
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights owner, and that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are, or are authorised to act for, the rights owner.
4. What we do when we receive a report
- We will acknowledge your notice within 5 working days.
- We will investigate, which may include reviewing our creation records for the element in question and seeking legal advice.
- Where a concern is substantiated, we will remove or replace the element or material, normally within 10 working days of concluding our investigation, and it will no longer be available for use in new ads.
- We will tell you the outcome. If we do not agree the material infringes, we will explain why, and the matter can be pursued through the usual legal channels.
Where a substantiated concern relates to a third-party open-source component we use (for example, an icon from the Lucide library), we will remove or replace our use of it in the same way, and we will also report the concern to the upstream project.
Removing an element from the built-in content does not retroactively affect ads users have already created; those exist only on users' devices.
5. Concerns about ads made with our tool
If your concern is about an ad someone has created or published, rather than about our built-in content or website, we are not the right recipient: we do not host user ads, we have no copy of them, and we have no relationship with the ad networks, platforms or websites where they may run. You should direct your complaint to the person or business running the ad, or to the platform or network displaying it (most ad networks and social platforms operate their own IP complaint procedures).
Our Website Terms of Use prohibit users from importing or using infringing material, and we will cooperate with lawful requests from courts and authorities in connection with unlawful use of our Service.
6. Misuse of this process
Submitting knowingly false or misleading copyright notices wastes everyone's time and may expose you to legal liability. We reserve the right to disregard notices that are abusive, plainly unfounded or repeatedly resubmitted without new substance.
